National Workshop On The International Day of Radiology

The Physiotherapy Department at Tishk International University organised its 1st National Workshop on International Day of Physiotherapy, held on November 22nd, 2022. The workshop aimed to highlight the role of medical imaging in modern healthcare and raise awareness of the value that radiology contributes to patient healthcare. 

More than 80 participants from different departments participated in the workshop, where two presenters shared their experience in radiology and explained the vital role radiologists play in the modern healthcare system. They further discussed how radiological technologists contribute to the healthcare continuum and how radiology is a medical field that has rapidly expanded due to significant technological advancements. Dr. Idris Garges from Hawler Medical University presented the first session, in which he talked about the role of MRI in Pubis Symphysis in athletes. In the second session, Dr. Salah Mohammed introduced the MRI and CT in stroke patients and details about the diagnosis.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Improve audience information about Physiotherapy
  • Introduce the connection between Radiology and Physiotherapy
  • Explain the role of Radiology in the diagnosis of several diseases
  • Provide general information about Radiology and its effects on people’s daily life
  • Develop connections with related departments of other universities across the region. 

The Physiotherapy Department is planning to hold other national and international workshops so as to create collaboration with other academic universities, both public and private, where sharing different ideas and experiences result in better diagnosis and enhanced healthcare.
