7th International Festival of Language, Culture, and Science

On April 25, 2024, Tishk International University – Erbil hosted the 7th International Spring Festival of Language, Culture, and Science, a vibrant event that celebrated diversity and aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

With more than 5,000 attendees from various cultural and national backgrounds, the festival featured 46 cultural tents and 26 scientific tents. It created a platform for cultural expression, academic discourse, and social unity, encouraging inclusivity, coexistence, and cross-cultural understanding.

The event also included fundraising initiatives and cultural exhibitions that supported economic opportunity and social equity, reinforcing TIU’s commitment to reducing inequalities within and beyond the university.

Tishk International University – Sulaimani

TIUS Students Win 2nd Prize at Valeria Morabito Award, Italy

A team of second-year Architecture Engineering students from Tishk International University – Sulaimani (TIUS) earned second prize at the prestigious Valeria Morabito Award Competition, held in Reggio Calabria, Italy, from May 21–24, 2024.

Their project, titled “Eco Refuge: Sustainable Shelter Solutions,” focused on providing eco-friendly shelter for refugees and displaced communities. It was supervised by Dr. Sardar Sulaiman, Head of the Interior Design Department. The achievement showcases the university’s dedication to addressing global challenges such as displacement and inequality through innovative and inclusive design.

This initiative contributes to SDG 10, by advocating for the rights and well-being of marginalized populations, particularly refugees.
