In the National University Ranking (NUR) of Kurdistan Region in Iraq, Tishk International University was ranked in Group B by taking the 4th place among private universities of Kurdistan. As a result of this success, the student quota determined by the Ministry will have been released: free student quota will be applied for all the departments.*

During the ceremony, the Minister Dr. Yusif Goran said that the process was conducted by a special high-ranking committee who developed a mechanism for the ranking of the KRG universities which was based on international ranking standards, and at the same time considered the strategy of Ministry of Higher Education. Thus, the Ranking was based on 7 main criteria and 47 secondary ones.

Tishk International University President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş congratulated the process and Tishk International University for getting this remarkable level; he appreciated the efforts of all the academics and administrative staff because in a very short time, Tishk International increased to the level B from level C and this was achieved by the contribution of all the units within the university. He also added that it is our duty to convey our university next time to much higher, we will work harder.

As it is known, there is no Group A university currently, not only from state but also from the government so the Group B is considered as the best.
