Tishk International University organized an “Anfal Ceremony” on the campus. Mr. Mahmud Haji Hamad Minister of Martyrs, the Representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Muhammed Sabir General Director of Study & Planning and Dr. Jamal Kamal, Vice General Director of the Studies, Planning and Follow-up Department, Representatives of the Government and the Intellectuals honored the event hosts with their participation.
The event started with the National Anthem of Kurdistan and standing silence for the Martyrs. The speeches were performed by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, Zaman Abda, Ayad Kakaı and Dr. Hüseyin Çakıllıkoyak.
During the speeches, the speakers made references to the tragic event of Halabja and Anfal by mentioning that the crimes against humanity and genocide must not be forgotten and forgiven anywhere, that is why a section dedicated to these events will be opened in Tishk International Library.
By means of this section, not only students but also international researchers will be able to find “Archived documents concerning the crimes against humanity and the genocide in Iraq”. This section is the second place in Iraq to be able to make research on such cases.
