Tishk International University and Salahaddin University Host 25th Innovative Student Forum: Exploring the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Scientific Research

Tishk International University, in collaboration with Salahaddin University (SUE), recently hosted the 25th Innovative Student Forum, a distinguished event organized by the Arab Committee for Student Training and Innovation. This year’s forum drew 50 exceptional students from 20 universities across seven Arab countries, including Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, Oman, and Libya, to showcase 50 innovative projects. The opening ceremony welcomed prominent officials, including representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Council of Ministers and the Governor of Erbil, underscoring the significance of this annual event.

The forum, themed “Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Scientific Research,” addressed the critical ethical considerations surrounding AI and its transformative role in research and innovation. The event highlighted four key focus areas: Artistic and Literary Creativity, New Trends in Information Technology, Scientific Research for Humanitarian Sciences, and Innovation and Scientific Creativity. By examining these areas, the forum aimed to inspire students to adopt responsible AI practices while enhancing scientific integrity and fostering innovation across disciplines.

Designed to offer a collaborative platform, the forum encouraged students to present their ground-breaking projects, network with peers, and exchange knowledge with experts and scholars from diverse backgrounds. In addition to fostering academic and creative growth, the forum promoted intercultural dialogue and built meaningful connections across nations, furthering participants’ understanding of innovative solutions to global challenges.

To ensure rigorous evaluation, 57 supervisors and jury members were engaged to guide and assess the students’ projects, creating a dynamic environment for critical feedback and academic exchange. The forum’s competitive element culminated with awards and certificates for the top four projects in each key focus area, celebrating exceptional contributions and encouraging further pursuit of academic excellence.

In organizing this prestigious event, Tishk International University and Salahuddin University established a Supervisory Committee and an Organizing Committee, each holding regular preparatory meetings to ensure meticulous planning and seamless execution. Within Tishk International University, an Operations Committee managed on-the-ground logistics, contributing to an efficient, professional experience for all attendees and setting a new standard for future events of this kind.

The 25th Innovative Student Forum stands as a significant achievement, both for the universities and the participating students, advancing discussions on AI ethics and reinforcing the importance of collaboration in tackling emerging challenges in research and innovation across the Arab region.
