The Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics of Tishk International University successfully hosted the 7th International Conference on Accounting, Business, Economics and Politics (ICABEP 2025) at the Pharmacy Building, Hall 400, bringing together a distinguished group of scholars, researchers, and professionals to discuss emerging trends and challenges across the fields of accounting, business, economics, and politics.

This year’s conference attracted more than 60 participants, including 21 international participants from over 13 countries, as well as academics and researchers from various universities across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

To ensure inclusiveness and accessibility, ICABEP 2025 was held in a hybrid mode, allowing researchers to present their scientific work both in person and online. This flexible approach enabled broader participation and engagement from scholars across different regions.

Opening and Welcoming Session

The conference opened with welcoming speeches delivered by esteemed representatives from the organizing universities and institutions. Dr. Yasin Salih, a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region, emphasized the national importance of ICABEP and its role in advancing academic research and collaboration.

Welcoming remarks followed from Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, Tishk International University; Shareef Maulod Shareef, Vice President of Salahaddin University; and Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University.

 

The session concluded with an address by Assist. Prof. Karwan H. Sherwani, Conference Chair and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics at TIU, who expressed gratitude to all contributors and reaffirmed the conference’s commitment to promoting scholarly engagement and international collaboration.

The First day featured inspiring keynote speeches from:

  • Prof. Dr. Taimur Sharif, Dean, College of Business, The American University of Kurdistan
  • Assoc. Prof. Ahmed Demir, Komar University of Science and Technology, Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq

The second day was dedicated to the presentations delivered by our respected participants across various modes. ICABEP 2025 served as a vibrant platform for academic exchange, offering participants the opportunity to present their latest research, share innovative ideas, and strengthen international collaboration.

As part of its ongoing mission to support academic development, ICABEP extended strong support to young researchers and Ph.D. scholars, providing opportunities to present their research and offering financial assistance to encourage academic participation. This initiative reaffirmed ICABEP’s commitment to empowering the next generation of academics.
