TIU ACI Student Chapter Recognized at Erbil Polytechnic University Ceremony
In a special ceremony held at Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU), the Tishk International University (TIU) ACI Student Chapter was honoured for its outstanding contributions to the field of concrete-related education and activities. The recognition highlights the chapter’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation in civil engineering.
The TIU ACI Student Chapter, advised by Mr. Ahmed Salih, received the prestigious Outstanding Student Chapter recognition. The award was presented by Mr. Ahmed Mhanna, ACI Middle East Regional Director, and Dr. Khaled Nahlawi, a Distinguished Engineer at ACI. In addition to the chapter’s recognition, Mr. Ahmed Salih was awarded a certificate of appreciation for his advisory role by Dr. Khaled Nahlawi.
The President of TIU, Vice President, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and the Head of the Civil Engineering Department were in attendance, with the TIU President extending his congratulations to the student chapter and voicing his support for the continuation of their successful activities.
As part of the ceremony, Ara, a third-grade student at the Civil Engineering at TIU, delivered an engaging presentation on the chapter’s achievements over the past year. The presentation impressed the audience, showcasing the chapter’s dedication to advancing concrete research and practical applications. Additionally, Research Assistant Bnar Abubakr was recognized for her pioneering role as the first founder of the ACI Student Chapter in Iraq, a tribute presented by the President of the ACI Kurdistan Chapter.
