President, Prof. Dr. Sultan shared his experiences and University’s role and his insight in advancing equality, recruitment, retention and promotion in Women empowerment in the society in panel discussions. The event served as a platform for key partners to explore and share successful strategies, identify challenges, and provide actionable solutions to foster workforce diversity and inclusion. TIU conducted meetings with the project coordinator to showcase how its policies and procedures promote equal opportunities in recruitment, retention, and promotion processes. A comprehensive survey questionnaire was developed to assess equality of opportunity within TIU. The survey aimed to evaluate key areas, including:
-
- Equal opportunities for males and females in workload, committee memberships, and course selection.
- Equitable access to resources such as training and mentoring for career growth.
- Fair and unbiased recruitment and hiring processes.
- Gender-equal access to promotion and career advancement opportunities.
The survey was distributed across academic departments at TIU, and the results revealed overwhelmingly positive findings. Based on the findings, TIU proposed recommendations to further strengthen and sustain equal opportunities within the university.
This successful partnership with WEO under the SAWI Project highlights TIU’s ongoing commitment to empowering women in the workplace and advancing inclusive practices within the MENA region. Together with its partners, TIU continues to promote responsible inclusion, ensuring equitable opportunities for all. We look forward to building on this success and furthering our collaborative efforts to support workforce diversity and inclusion.
