TIU Hosts the 7th International Festival of Language, Culture, and Science

In a vibrant celebration of unity and diversity, Tishk International University recently hosted the 7th International Festival of Language, Culture, and Science under the theme “The Spring of Coexistence.” This remarkable event, organized by the Dean of Students, brought together over 5,000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, academics, and members of the public, creating an atmosphere of harmony and collaboration.

The festival, held on April 25th, 2024, showcased the rich tapestry of cultures and knowledge from around the globe. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, set the stage with an opening speech, followed by Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University, and Consul General Mr. Madan Gopal, Consulate General of India, Erbil, Iraq.

Thanks to the generous support of the main event sponsor MG Motor and other sponsors. The festival featured over 25 tents dedicated to scientific exploration, under the AI trends theme. The Department of Architecture clinched the top position, followed by the Department of Computer Education in second place, and the Faculty of Pharmacy securing third place. Moreover, amidst the vibrant cultural tents showcasing diverse countries and communities, Palestine and the Republic of Korea emerged victorious, claiming the first spot among 30 participating nations. India, China, and the UAE garnered second place, while France, Romania, and the UAE secured third place. Spain and the USA attained fourth place.

Amidst the festivities, the spirit of giving shone bright, with more than 40 food fundraising tents contributing to charity efforts. Participants indulged in a plethora of entertainment options, from horse shows to handicraft displays, fostering a sense of joy and goodwill.

At the heart of the festival was the theme of “The Spring of Coexistence,” symbolizing the power of unity in embracing diversity. This theme echoes beyond the festival grounds, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for our global community. Through cultural exchange and collaborative learning, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive and harmonious world.
