On May 14, 2025, Tishk International University (TIU) hosted Ms. Ydikar Kouja, Head of Campus France in Erbil. She led an insightful and engaging session with faculty and students.
During her visit, Ms. Yadikar outlined several potential avenues for future collaboration between TIU and French universities. The discussion focused on establishing academic exchange programs, creating opportunities for TIU graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in France, and building long-term institutional partnerships.
A key part of the session guided students through the application process for French universities. Ms. Yadikar elaborated on Campus France’s role in supporting students. This included assistance with application procedures and obtaining French student visas. She emphasized the comprehensive support offered, covering counseling, document preparation, and interview guidance.
Students were also introduced to essential aspects of life in France, including:

- Types of student accommodation (e.g., university dormitories, private rentals, shared flats).
- Public transportation systems and student discounts.
- Daily living expenses, including food and utilities.
- Insights into French culture and adapting to a multicultural academic environment.
Additionally, Ms. Yadikar encouraged students interested in learning French to enroll in courses offered by the French Institute in Erbil. She highlighted that language proficiency would significantly enhance students’ academic experience and integration into French society.
