Workshop at TIU Explores Surgical Techniques in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

On March 7th, 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a workshop for its alumni club, shedding light on advanced techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Rawand Mustafa and Dr. Ali Adnan, from Faculty of Dentistry, TIU, led the session titled: Exploring the Art of Incisions, Flaps, and Suture.

The workshop attracted 90 participants, eager to delve into the surgical procedures crucial to their field. Sponsored by Brightdent Company, the event aimed to foster ongoing education and professional development within the alumni community.

The workshop comprised two comprehensive sessions. Theoretical discussions that went through the principles and methodologies behind incisions, flap creation, and suturing techniques, providing attendees with a solid theoretical foundation. The hands-on session allowed participants to put theory into practice, honing their skills under the expert guidance of the facilitators.

The workshop enabled the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in incisions, flap design, and suturing techniques, bolstering their surgical skills, and to develop critical thinking skills essential for navigating complex surgical scenarios effectively. It also provided a platform for alumni to network, exchange insights, and foster collaborations, nurturing a supportive professional community vital for continued growth and success.
