1st National Workshop on Infectious Diseases Awareness and Prevention: AIDS International Day (Interdisciplinary Workshop)

A special interdisciplinary workshop and poster exhibition was organized by the Nursing Department in collaboration with the Pharmacy and Dentistry Departments at Tishk International University on Wednesday 13th December 2023, to equip 55 medical and non-medical academic staff with the knowledge and skills they need to protect their own and their communities’ health, as part of a proactive effort to address the significance of infection awareness and prevention in the World International AIDS day. The goal of the workshop was to promote a culture of prevention through training and useful techniques. Extensive sessions and speaker presentations led by Mr. Goran Noori Saleh were held, empowering communities to proactively protect their well-being against infectious diseases by providing individuals with information and doable tactics.

Key Objectives of this Interdisciplinary Workshop:

  1. Knowledge Dissemination: The workshop functioned as an instructional forum, furnishing attendees with precise and current details regarding diverse infectious diseases, their pathways of transmission, and proactive actions.
  2. Hands-on Training: Attendees received practical instruction on crucial preventive measures throughout these workshops. Participants learned useful tips for preventing sickness, such as how to wash their hands properly and how important personal hygiene is.
  3. Vaccination Advocacy: Since vaccinations are essential in stopping the spread of dangerous diseases, the program includes specific lessons on vaccine awareness. Vaccination advocates received education on the value of vaccinations and how to promote them in their areas.
