On October 23, 2018, Tishk International University was totally different from the normal days of the university, since all the talented students were gathered together. Student Deanery organized Clubs Introduction Day. The event aimed to introduce the clubs and the instructor of each clubs to the students and as well as to the staff. The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program alumnus were at Tishk International University on October 17, 2018 to give a presentation about how to apply to the IYLEP program which is a fully funded program by US Embassy that sends undergraduate and high school students to the United States of America for cultural and educational purposes. IYLEP is a program that takes students from all over Iraq to America to educate them on the American culture, to enrich their imaginations, to improve their critical thinking and the ability to develop themselves. On October 16th and 17th 2018, an Expert Panel comprised of two Academic Representatives, one Representative of Profession, one Students Representative and Project Manager conducted a site-visit to Tishk International University Campus as a part of the International Accreditation Procedure of both B.Sc.-programs in Computer Engineering and Information Technology. The panel was formed by the “ Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency” (ZEvA) which is a founding member of The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and The European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA) . Tishk International University is working on a project entitled ‘Religious and Cultural Diversity in Kurdistan’ funded by DAAD, within this context, a group of academicians from Tishk International University, Salahaddin University, and Catholic University participated in a fifteen-day exchange program in Potsdam University, Germany. They also attended two-day training courses on Quality Management at the Centre for Quality Development under the supervision of Michaela Fuhrman, Director of Quality Management Centre, and Coaching for Postgraduates in Graduation School with the supervision of Dr. Heike Kuchmeister, Director of Potsdam Graduate School. Welcome Ceremony was held on October 15, 2018, which was organized by the Students Deanery of Tishk International University. The event started at 11:00 am in front of the main building by the national anthem of Kurdistan. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of Board of Trustees enriched the event by presenting an amazing speech in which he congratulated the students and staff regarding the new academic year, and he reminded some of the essential achievements that are accomplished during the last year. On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, the First International Conference on Advanced Science and Engineering (ICOASE2018), which is jointly organized by the University of Zakho and Dohuk Polytechnic University under the supervision of IEEE in Iraq, took place in the hall of conferences in Duhok province.
