On January 21, 2018, Alumni Office of Tishk International University provided another opportunity to their graduated students by organizing a seminar entitled: “Potentials of having career in ISO 9001 Quality Management System”. A Delegation from Hawler Medical University consists of Asst. Prof. Dr. Dara O. Meran President of University and Deans visited Tishk International University on January 17, 2017. They were warmly welcomed by Dr.Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees. In a small meeting, the future projects between Both side such as seminars and conferences were discussed and decided to be done in the nearest time. After the meeting they visited Dentistry faculty and pharmacy department.

After the Darbandikhan earthquake on November 12, 2017, Tishk International University president Dr. Idris Hadi Salih has established an engineering committee under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş to visit the earthquake region and make an investigation on the facts and causes of the earthquake. The committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, Asst. Lec. Barham Haidar Ali, Asst. Lec. Ilham Ibrahim, and Asst. Lec. Twana Ahmad. The committee has visited the Darbandikhan and made general observations on the city and special investigations on many damages and collapsed structures. Tishk International University was ranked in the top 4 universities in the academic year of 2016 – 2017 in the national university ranking NUR. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research allowed Tishk International University to open Master Degree programs in collaboration with one of the government universities. On January 14, 2018, Tishk International University organized the first scientific qualification exam for the candidates for a master degree. The sum of the participants was near 200 students from all the departments. Physics education department students participated with their fantastic ideas in an exhibition on January 11, 2018. An important opportunity has been given to the 3rd and 4th - year students to share their works with other undergraduates and faculty members. Our students in the “Wave and Optics” and “Thermodynamics” classes have prepared instructional modules associated with a poster to testify their ability for explaining “Wave and Optics” and “Thermodynamics” important concepts at the BSc level.
