Mercy Corner is an annual project that is organized by the Deanery of Students of Tishk International University, which is dedicated to refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) that are staying in camps in the Kurdistan region. The aim of this project is to shed light on the situation and raise awareness among our students. International Women’s Day is annually celebrated around the globe on March 8th to pay tribute to women and acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements they have accomplished. Accordingly, the Dean of Students (DOS) organized an event for this important day, and it was celebrated at Tishk International University with great enthusiasm and sincerity. Today, March 08, 2021, a delegation of Tishk International University consisting of Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdul Samad, Acting President, Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President, visited the Kurdistan Parliament.The TIU representatives were welcomed by Dr. Rewaz Faiq Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament, and Mrs. Muna Kahveci, Secretary of Kurdistan Parliament. Dr. Mario Del Verme, Sport Director at Scholas, and Mr. Manuel Deza, International teacher at Scholas, conducted a series of training workshops in TIU seminar room in the Education Building at 9:30 am on March 3rd, 2021. The motive of the training was to provide TIU with detailed information about Scholas’ goals and their activities. A football match was held in Tishk International University Stadium on March 3rd, 2021. The event was organized in collaboration with Scholas Occurentes Foundation in Vatican City, to mark the special occasion of Pope Francis' visit to Iraq and the Region of Kurdistan. Today, Wednesday March 3rd, 2021, a special team was sent to Tishk International University from Zanko Health Center. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of Board of Trustees, Director of Health & Safety, and TIU administration, welcomed the Zanko Health Center team. The purpose of the visit was an inspection by the team, organized to check the applied health and safety instructions at TIU regarding COVID-19 and taking several samples from random students.
