IRD Department Organizes Hybrid International Workshop on Migration in the Middle East
In line with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Tishk International University, in collaboration with the University of Szczecin and the Polish Political Science Association, organized a Hybrid International Workshop titled “The Impact of Socio-Political Changes in the Middle East on Migration” on November 16th, 2023.
The workshop explored how political instability, conflicts, and economic disparities drive migration and affect labor markets and economic opportunities in host countries, particularly Europe.
Key speakers emphasized the importance of stable work environments and the implementation of policies that address the root causes of migration, such as poverty and lack of job opportunities. The discussions highlighted the need for sustainable migration policies that promote decent work and contribute to long-term economic growth, particularly in humanitarian migration contexts.

On November 23rd, 2023, the Department of Computer Engineering and the Department of Information Technology at TIUS organized a scientific and social trip to Erbil.
Students explored academic facilities and practical labs at Tishk International University – Erbil, participating in interactive classroom sessions. Beyond academics, they also visited the Illusion Museum, immersing themselves in optical illusions and artistic wonders, making the trip a perfect blend of education and entertainment.
The visit fostered stronger student connections and lasting memories beyond classroom learning.
