Tishk International University Hosts the 10th International Legal Issues Conference with International Participation

The Faculty of Law at Tishk International University successfully organized the 10th International Legal Issues Conference (10 ILIC) on June 10–11, 2026. The conference brought together legal scholars, researchers, academics, and practitioners from various countries to discuss contemporary legal challenges and developments.

A total of 52 research papers were presented during the conference, covering a wide range of legal fields. The participating researchers represented universities and academic institutions from the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and made available through the conference website.

The opening ceremony, held on June 10, 2026, commenced with a speech by Dr. Ibrahim Rashid Hassan, Director of Private Education at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This was followed by remarks from Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Tishk International University, and Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University. The ceremony also featured a speech by Prof. Dr. Rozhan Dazayi, Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The conference hosted several distinguished keynote speakers, including Prof. Dr. Noor Al-Hajaya from Jordan, Prof. Dr. Safaa Al-Sweilemeen from Jordan, Dr. Abdulrahman Zebari, former member of the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq, and Dr. Aram Najmaddin, Director General at the High Electoral and Referendum Commission of the Kurdistan Region.

Among the notable attendees were Ms. Shelan Arif, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Rebwar Hadi, Member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Osman Yassin, Director of the Kurdistan Judicial Institute, Dr. Luqman Hussein, Director General of Real Estate Registration, parliamentary advisors, and researchers from various academic institutions.

Faculty members and administrative staff of the Faculty of Law also participated alongside a large number of guests. The event received media coverage from Rudaw TV, Kurdistan TV, and Zagros TV.

Following the opening ceremony, researchers presented their studies and engaged in fruitful academic discussions, fostering intellectual exchange and strengthening cooperation among participants. The conference provided an important platform for sharing legal knowledge, discussing emerging legal issues, and promoting scholarly collaboration.

The successful organization of the 10th International Legal Issues Conference further reinforces the Faculty of Law’s commitment to academic excellence and legal research. Building on this achievement, the faculty has already begun preparations for the 11th International Legal Issues Conference, which will continue to serve as a distinguished platform for legal scholars and researchers from around the world.
