On April 2nd 2019, TishK International University held an Opening Ceremony of 12 new laboratories at the University campus. They are: two Nursing Laboratories, two Medical Analysis Laboratories, two Petroleum and Mining Laboratories, two Mechatronics Laboratories, two Computer Laboratories, one Surveying & Geomatics Engineering Laboratory, and one Computer Laboratory for Business Course. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mehmet Özdemir, Academic Vice president and Dr. Wasfi Kahwachi, Admin and Fin. Vice president of Tishk International University visited Mr. Katsumi, Consulate General of Japan in Erbil, Iraq on March 31 2019. In the meeting, it was planned to initiate a new collaboration between Tishk and several Japan universities to promote scientific and education level by holding shared seminars, international conferences, student and staff exchange programs and information exchange. The project of ‘‘Religious Diversity“ has started in 2018 with a visit of the German side to Tishk International University (TIU) on April, 2018 and the counter-visit of Iraqi/Kurdish faculties was on September 2018, to Potsdam University, Germany. We have the best memories to both events and we are still grateful for your overwhelming hospitality and support. The project will continue in 2019. Three students from the business and management department (Omar Falah, Ramyar Saleem and Ahmed Mahmood ) got the acceptance for the student exchange program. They are the first group from the business and management department to visit TU Bergakademie Freiberg University in Germany. The exchange program is in collaboration of the international relations office of TIU, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Erasmus plus project. The students will start with a five-month German A1 language course and after that they will proceed to start with their studies in the university in beginning of April 2019.

On March 07, 2019, both Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of Tishk International University (TIU) and Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) – Erbil Section organized a workshop entitled “Using Downhole Fiber Optic Temperature Sensing Technology to Monitor, Control and Improve Well Performance” For the Distinguished Lecturer program held periodically by SPE branches in the world.
