Highlights

The American University of Kurdistan (AU) visited Tishk International University on the 6th of December 2016. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş President of Tishk International University and Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir Vice President welcomed Dr. Michael William Mulnix President of the American University of Kurdistan and Dr. Honar K. Issa Member of Board of Trustees of AU. The main agenda of the meeting was to set friendly collaboration among both sides in the future and organize prospective mutual conference in order to enhance the links between Tishk International University and The American University of Kurdistan.    

DENTISTRY DEPARTMENT COMMENCED the first step of the Volunteer Teeth Care project on November 23, 2016. Pedodontic department’s team composing of a lecturer, a clinical assistant and 20 dental students visited Erbil Ola Primary School which is located in Saidawa in Erbil. The visit was performed with partnership of Dean of Students and Kurdistan Save Children Organization that provided the project with materials and governmental permission for visiting schools. The number of the examined school’s children were 260, all included by the dental examination. Tishk International University offers a variety of training courses to help the educators improve their vocational skills. Within this context, about 82 teachers registered for a 30-day program in which they will update their current knowledge and improve their critical and analytical thinking abilities concerning English, Mathematics and Science courses, in terms of inspection. The participants of the program are those who work as the School Inspectors under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş President  of Tishk International University  and Academic Vice President Dr. Mehmet Özdemir welcomed the trainees in person and gave introductory speech about the program. Darashukran and Qushtapa refugee camps will host our ELT students for Educational help to the refugees. The project had been lunched last year by Dr. Numan Kanar in the purpose of providing and helping people who are in educational need in the refugee camps. This year is the second attempt by ELT student, not only one camp, but also two refugee camps were included for this years.   Before our student left from the Tishk International University for camps, there was held a short ceremony in front of Education Faculty.
