Dean of Students with volunteer students visited the front line of Peshmarga forces in Makhmoor part to deliver donations covering the collected credit cards to peshmarga forces. Said Qahar Vice commander of Makhmoor sector welcomed Volunteer Tishk International students. Umed Aruzery Vice  President of Tishk International University made a speech and thanked Peshmarga forces for their standing against the enemy and gave plaque  of appreciation to Said Qahar.  Commander thanked Tishk International University students for their outstanding behavior and care with Peshmarga forces. The students distributed Peshmarga forces 220 credit cards, sweets and cakes.    

ISHIK University has been one of the pioneer universities within the Kurdistan region to promote not only research but also interaction and involvement within the community. The university is keen on developing programs, including academically based community service, direct traditional service, and community development. Professor Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, the president, is targeting world-class research and development programs that would play a vital role within the community. Such role should consider engagement and collaboration with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that could facilitate for this process. Deanery of Students at Tishk International University with partnership of Dilnewa Organization for blood donation on 10th January 2017 in order to help people who have Thalassemia and Peshmarga with blood need. All staff and students attended the this social responsibility project to render social awareness common among not only young generation, but also society. It was only for Iraqi citizenship holders. “The blood you donate gives someone another chance at life. One day that someone may be a close relative, a friend, a loved one - or even You”.

An exhibition was organized on the 9th January 2017 to present more than 20 physics projects by the students of Physics and Mathematics Education Departments. The objective of the exhibition was to provide the students’ skills and knowledge in order to show their specializations that they can perform after graduation effectively. The projects were exhibited in the main entrance of the Education Faculty Building. Large number of participants attended the exhibition. The distinguished guests of the exhibition were Dr. Idrees Hadi Head of Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, President of Tishk International University, and Vice Presidents of Tishk International University. Continuing Education Center provided English training course for 30 days with subject of math and science for the School Inspectors. The course started on November 28, 2016 and continued for 30 days until January 05, 2017. School Inspectors attended the program as participants.  Regarding the content of program, four lessons were taught daily to the 62 School Inspectors among who three of them were general English, and 4th was math and science. Dean of Students of Tishk International University started a campaign with the cooperation of Dilnewa Organization under the title of "Mercy Corner" that the students can bring their extra clothes (all age included), blanket, toys, etc... Our volunteer students and staff will arrange a packet of these materials and pass them to the families who live in the refugee camps. There is a Mercy Corner in each building of our university for those who want to help and give their extra stuffs to brothers and sisters in the refugee camps with thw slogan "You may make a family or a child [...]
