About the Featured Speaker

Harmand Ali Hama is a molecular biologist and Head of the Biology Education Department at Tishk International University, as well as a PhD scholar in Molecular Cancer Genetics. His research focuses on colorectal cancer genetics, leukemia patterns in Kurdish populations, and genetic risk factors associated with major diseases. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and several reviews in human genetics, cancer biology, molecular medicine, ethnopharmacology, and public-health genetics.

In his TEDx talk, he explores the complex interaction between genes and disease, revealing how cells communicate through a silent biological language. He explains how genetic signals influence health and illness, helping us understand why diseases develop and how our bodies respond at the cellular level.
