Tishk International University (TIU) is proud to announce that the innovative student project “AI-Based Interactive Holographic Display System for Real-Time Medical Visualization and Education (HoloMed AI)” has been selected to represent the University at the Start Cup Competition 2026 – Entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean, scheduled to take place in Italy on November 23–24, 2026.

The project was selected on July 7, 2026, following a comprehensive evaluation process conducted by TIU’s Selection Committee. The evaluation considered the competition requirements and assessment criteria, with HoloMed AI recognized for its originality, technological innovation, and potential contribution to medical education and healthcare training.

HoloMed AI was developed by Abdullah Salim Mahmood, Alin Nawsherwan Kanabi, and Gala Bahman Muhamed, students from the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering at Tishk International University, under the supervision of Dr. Abubakar M. Ashir.

The project integrates artificial intelligence with interactive holographic visualization technologies to introduce a new approach to real-time medical visualization and education. The system aims to enhance teaching methodologies, improve learning experiences, and create new opportunities for healthcare training and clinical education.

The selection of HoloMed AI reflects the creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities of TIU students. It also demonstrates the University’s commitment to supporting student-led innovation and developing solutions that address emerging challenges in science, technology, and healthcare.

Following the selection, the project team and supervisor will complete the required nomination procedures and prepare the necessary documentation for TIU’s participation in the international competition.
