TIU Strengthens Academic Cooperation with the Republic of Korea
Tishk International University Welcomes the Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Strengthen Academic Cooperation
Tishk International University (TIU) had the honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. Eoon-Gyo Shim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, during his official visit to the university on July 29, 2026. The distinguished guest was warmly received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees, along with senior university officials.
As part of the visit, H.E. Mr. Shim toured the Korean Corner at Tishk International University, where he was briefed on its recent activities and initiatives. The Korean Corner serves as an important platform for promoting Korean language, culture, and educational engagement, reflecting TIU’s commitment to fostering intercultural understanding and international collaboration.
Following the tour, an official meeting was held between the Consul General and the university leadership. Discussions focused on expanding academic and institutional cooperation between Tishk International University and higher education institutions in the Republic of Korea. Both sides explored opportunities for developing partnerships in areas such as student and faculty exchange, joint research, academic mobility, and collaborative educational programs that would contribute to strengthening international academic ties.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Republic of Korea and Tishk International University to advancing global academic cooperation and creating meaningful opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members. It also highlighted TIU’s ongoing efforts to build strategic international partnerships that enhance educational excellence and promote cross-cultural engagement.
