Tishk International University students demonstrate exceptional excellence, innovation, and leadership among hundreds of competitors from universities and institutions across the region.

on August 11–14, 2026.Tishk International University is celebrating an extraordinary series of achievements by its students at Medico 2026, where TIU representatives have secured three first-place victories and advanced to the semi-finals of the competition.

During the ongoing event  the TIU student team defeated the Catholic University team, earning a place in the semi-finals.

The achievements continued with an outstanding performance by Abdullah Dler, General Representative of Tishk International University and the Faculty of Dentistry. Competing in the MediVote Competition during the third day of the Medical Conference at the Erbil International Fair, Abdullah earned first place among 160 competitors representing different universities and institutions. His accomplishment reflects his dedication, confidence, and commitment to representing TIU with distinction.

TIU also proudly recognizes Shawkatbag Edris, a fifth-stage Dental student, who represented the university through the MedStars Program. Shawkatbag presented his innovative Lyia AI project, designed for dental radiography, highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence to support innovation and advancement in dentistry. He later achieved first place in the final MediVote event among 420 contestants.

In another remarkable achievement, a fifth-stage student Zaynab Abid from the Department of Pharmacy secured first place in a MediVote round, further strengthening TIU’s outstanding presence at Medico 2026.

Together, these accomplishments represent more than individual victories. They demonstrate the talent, creativity, and competitive spirit of TIU students across the fields of dentistry, pharmacy, medicine, technology, and innovation. The success of the students also reflects the university’s commitment to preparing graduates who can excel in academic, professional, and international settings.

The Career Development Center at Tishk International University annually organizes the university-wide TIU Genius Competition, giving talented students the opportunity to develop their skills and compete at a higher level. The winning students are selected to represent TIU in local and international competitions, creating a pathway from university-level excellence to broader academic and professional recognition.
