Tishk International University and CGC University Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Tishk International University (TIU) and CGC University, Mohali, India, strengthened their commitment to international academic cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a virtual ceremony held on August 27, 2026.

The ceremony commenced with a welcoming address by Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University, who highlighted the importance of international partnerships in advancing academic excellence and creating opportunities for institutional cooperation. Prof. (Dr.) Anish Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic & International Affairs at CGC University, also delivered remarks emphasizing the significance of the newly established partnership.

The program included institutional presentations by Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, who introduced Tishk International University and its academic profile, and Ms. Jasmine Kaur, Assistant Manager of International Affairs at CGC University, who presented CGC University and its academic and international engagement.

The highlight of the ceremony was the formal signing of the MoU, marking an important step toward closer cooperation between the two universities. The agreement is expected to provide a foundation for future academic and institutional initiatives, knowledge exchange, and broader international engagement.

The TIU delegation included Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President; Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad S. Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Hala Najwan Sabeh Al-Muwassefi, Head of the IT Department; Dr. Javed Ahamad, Head of the Pharmacy Department; and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of International Relations.

Representing CGC University were Prof. (Dr.) Anish Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic & International Affairs; Mr. Sarbjit Singh, Manager of International Affairs; Mr. Harpreet Singh, Deputy Manager of International Affairs; and Ms. Jasmine Kaur, Assistant Manager of International Affairs.

The signing of the MoU represents another important milestone in Tishk International University’s ongoing internationalization efforts and its commitment to building meaningful academic relationships with universities around the world.
